Here you will learn what data we collect and how it is processed.

No third-party services

All fonts, data collection services, etc. are hosted on our server and provided by us. Not everything under the domain swipematch.me, but also all other services we use belong to us and are operated by us. We do not share any data directly or indirectly.

How do we store?

Here we utilize three different techniques.

Sessions

A session stores data exclusively in your browser. Not on our server. Once you close your browser, these sessions are automatically deleted. Swipematch.me can read and process these sessions accordingly.

Cookies

Cookies are also stored in your browser like sessions and can be processed by Swipematch.me. Unlike sessions, however, cookies still exist even when you close the browser and revisit our site later. Cookies trigger automatic logins, so users do not have to re-enter their credentials every time. Cookies are only stored if you want them to be (e.g., automatic login) and are deleted as soon as you log out.

Storing data in our databases

As for your registration or use of swipematch.me.

Automatically collected data

Only your approximate location is automatically determined. These coordinates are inaccurate and are collected via our GeoDB. The purpose of this data collection is to determine your country code so that we can display swipematch.me in the correct language (if we already offer it) and to show you potential matches in your vicinity. We do not use this technology for tracking or similar purposes. Automatically collected data is stored exclusively in sessions and only transferred to our databases upon your registration, login, or use of our service.

Data you voluntarily provide us

To use swipematch.me, we naturally need data from you that we also store. Once you delete your profile on swipematch.me (unless it has been suspended, see Terms of Use), these data will also be deleted.

What data is that?

For your registration and later login, we require a valid email address and a password from you. Your password is immediately converted into a hash and can no longer be retrieved.

Additionally, you must provide us with a username (which should not be your real name). Your gender and age are automatically determined.

You must provide at least one facial image of yourself (this is generated during registration).

Location data so that the distance to your potential matches can be calculated. Only geocoordinates are stored here. We prefer to use the automatically collected data if available. Automatically collected data is often inaccurate by several miles/kilometers, which can be disappointing during the match-finding process. Therefore, you can also provide your precise location coordinates with two clicks. In some cases, you must do this, especially when your location data cannot be automatically collected, such as when using a VPN.

We never share your data directly or indirectly with third parties. We also do not track. We are not interested in your browsing or purchasing behavior.

Anonymity and data publication

With a service like swipematch.me, anonymity is impossible. After all, you show your face to all other members.

Visible to all users:

• Your uploads, images, videos showing you
• Your profile description
• Your hobbies, preferences, etc. (if provided)
• Your determined age
• Your determined gender
• Your username
• Distance to you in miles and kilometers, according to your location data (never an address, city, or municipality, since we do not store this data)
• Your online status (online or offline)

!All other data is not visible!

Additional profile entries, such as height and weight (as well as any future profile entries that may become available during the development of swipematch.me), are solely for user filtering.
