Terms of Service

swipematch.me is an online service to help people get to know each other. Users can swipe or click through profiles to filter potential matches. If two people like each other, it is a match and contact can be initiated through swipematch.me.

1. User Data

   Data we receive from users during their registration and use of swipematch.me will be stored and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
   
   Certain data will also be made available to other registered users in accordance with our Privacy Policy. This includes: profile pictures, usernames, age, gender, online status, and profile information.

2. Electronic Gender and Age Recognition

   During registration, facial recognition is used to determine both the approximate age and gender of the user. The technology is not yet advanced enough to provide precise data. In rare cases, gender may not be recognized or may be incorrectly identified. Additionally, the age may be higher or lower than the actual age of the user. The operators of swipematch.me do not guarantee the accuracy of the collected data.
   
   However, users can enter their actual date of birth during registration, provided it does not deviate significantly from the recognized age. Furthermore, users can verify both their age and gender after registration.
   
   Users cannot set their gender during registration. But through our verification tool, we can enter the exact data. Especially regarding gender, a video chat with one of our moderators may be necessary, as it is possible that the AI recognizes a gender that the user has changed medically.
   It may also happen that our software recognizes a female user as a male, even though she has successfully transitioned from male to female through hormone therapy and surgery, and vice versa.
   In this case, we unfortunately have to allow our intolerant users to filter this. However, this is not indicated anywhere. A woman is a woman, a man is a man. What they were before does not matter to us.
   
   

3. Profile Pictures

   During registration, the main profile picture is also created as part of the facial recognition process.
   
   The main profile picture serves as a reference and comparison photo for other profile pictures. All profile pictures must show the face of the registered person (exceptions can be found under point 5). Additionally, the age of the profile pictures is compared to the current age of the user. We reserve the right to reject images with too large an age discrepancy.

4. Couple and Group Profiles

   Profiles belonging to multiple people are not yet possible but will be part of our upcoming developments. At the moment, we are still focused on individual people.
   
   However, even then, the registration process will not change, and all parties must initially register individually to then combine these profiles into a group profile.

5. Adult Profile Pictures

   Users who have reached the age of 18 can upload explicitly provocative pornographic images and videos. These images and video clips will only be shown to users who have also uploaded images or video clips of this nature.
   
   This includes nude photographs as well as explicit depictions of genitalia in provocative pornographic forms. The profile owner must be shown nude (either fully or restricted to the relevant areas). If the face is not clearly visible in these images, the profile name must be clearly legible (written on a sheet of paper or on the body). Additionally, these images and videos will first be reviewed by our moderators before being approved and may be rejected without comment. This is about fairness. Only those who show may also see.

6. Profile Pictures, Video Clips, and Upload Filters

   Users can upload 7 files, including a short video clip. Since our storage capacity is limited and we are not always able to add new storage, we reserve the right to correct the number of uploads at any time.
   
   We use an upload filter to ensure that all data comes directly from a webcam, video camera, or mobile device camera and has not been downloaded from other sites.
   
   Furthermore, the operators and moderators will periodically check profiles and uploaded files for misconduct or violations of our terms of service.

7. Inactive Profiles

   Profiles that have not been used for 30 days are considered inactive and will be automatically deleted unless a profile ban is in place (see point 8).

8. Banned Profiles

   In the event of a violation of our terms of service, we reserve the right to temporarily or permanently ban profiles without comment. Banned profiles will be deactivated and no longer accessible.

9. Advertising and Customer Acquisition on Profiles or in Chat is Prohibited

   Any advertising in text, photos, or video clips is prohibited. Specifically, but not limited to, links to other sites are not permitted. We do not grant special permissions for this.
   
   Neither the profile nor the chat may be misused for self-promotion or customer acquisition.
   
   A violation will result in an immediate permanent ban of the profile.
   
   We ask our users to alert us to such violations by clicking on the report icon ().

10. Users Can Delete Their Profiles

    We regret it if users wish to leave us and comfort ourselves with the thought that a match for life may have developed through swipematch.me.
    
    Users can delete their profiles at any time, provided the profile is not banned (see point 8).
